New Zealand Bird Illustrations
During the COVID-19 lockdown, I dedicated 30 days to illustrating a different New Zealand native bird each day. With many of these species endangered or at risk, the project aimed to raise awareness while allowing me to sharpen my vector illustration skills.
What began as a personal creative challenge quickly grew into a community-driven initiative. I shared each illustration on social media, and soon friends, family, and followers were suggesting birds and requesting prints. The momentum led to schools using the illustrations as educational resources and conservation groups adopting them for merchandise. This project not only deepened my connection to conservation but also showed the power of design to educate, inspire, and support a cause. It remains one of my most meaningful creative endeavours.
